This is for Ashley...
So this last Halloween Thomas invited me to a party that a friend of his was throwing. It was a Nintendo themed party meaning you had to come as a character from Nintendeo. So we had Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Ness, Ka Boom, 2 different Koppa Troopers and I was Bullet Bill.
It was crazy fun and I'm very happy that Tom invited me.

I wrote this to a friend that I grew up with in Utah and haven't seen in years...thought it summed up my life pretty well so here ya go...
My Boring Life
By Jessica George
I realize that I haven't kept in contact with you like I should....but would like to try to rectify that....so here's a run down of my boring life.
After I graduated from HS I moved to Washington DC for almost a year; I totally fell in love with the area I was in and the people and place I worked with but the cost of living was to high so I moved back home.
I've been at Best Buy 3 years as of August 3rd. I first worked customer service for about 1.5 years but moved to Geek Squad. I'm full-time so I have benefits and all coverage and all that good stuff. I love it most of the time. No I don't actually drive a bug or even fix the computers; I do all the admin stuff such as inventory, reports and problem resolution. It's almost like customer service with a twist, a nasty one at times. Such as the service center we send all our stuff to have the hardware replaced is staffed by untrained monkeys. That's right we don't even get the trained monkeys!
My social life is even less exciting then work is...I'm single, not dating anyone (although there is this fantastic LDS guy at work -meet him there not at church, strange I know- but I'm pretty sure he sees me as the brillant but annoying co-worker, and considered an old maid by some of my family. I'm not in school; can't afford it but am trying to work on that with a tution rembursment program through work.
Amber and Corey have been married for 5 years and have 3! kids. Thea Lynn Bowles 4, Donovan Michael Bowles 2 next month, and Logan Boyd Bowles about 5 months. They are the cutest kids ever and we all live within a 12 minute drive of my parents. Thea is just like her mom in every attitude possible; I guess my Mom wishing a child that was like her paid off.
Thomas is a firefighter (I like being able to tell people that). He's now certified/passed the program he was in and works 3 jobs plus goes to school full time. He makes me look like a major slacker. He lives at a firestation and works there a couple 24hr shifts a month to "pay rent" and such. It's a really sweet deal, he also works every 3rd day at McClain station on a 24hr shift. So that is crazy weird. Finally he works at the local hosiptal as a "Transporter", not as cool as the movie but they pay bank apparently. I'll admit it, he's kinda my hero.
Jared is 17! and a senior in high school. I choose not to acknowledge that fact most of the time due to the fact that it makes me feel old and he doesn't act his age. But it's not entirely his fault; he does have some learning disablities.
Let's see....
Oh, my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on the 10th, that seems way long to me but hey I can't even get a date.My mom's parents kinda live up here with their horrible dog-I'm a cat person-they only kinda live here cause they technically live in the out skirts of podunckville (Amargosa Valley, NV). It's like an hour north of Death Valley. My papa got a job up here as a construction site safety overseer guy. So they and the dog (Rufus: although papa likes to call him Ruffy) live on the site where all the constuction equipment is kept in a 5th wheel trailor.
Well I'm pretty sure your tired of hearing from me by now so just a few more things....I adore penguins, have found I have a talent for injuring myself is strange and seemingly impossible ways, and had 2 pet frogs and a snail named Harold, Gerald, and Lenorad but sadly Harold has passed away.

My New Found Talent

So I recently realized I have a very rare talent...injuring myself in new and exciting ways:
  • I impaled a toothpick into the palm of my hand...on my bed! Still have no idea why a toothpick was in my bed
  • Sliced open my finger on a rubberband
  • Got a second degree burn on my lower back from a seatbelt buckle. I'm gonna be branded for the rest of my life
  • Sliced open my pinkie toe on a box tape gun
  • Burned my finger so badly on one spot I will never have hair there again
  • Got a mystery cut on my hand that didn't heal for like a month and have a giant scar for.
  • Sliced my thumb open on a computer
  • Screwed up my back eating speghetti
  • Broke my ankle at a waterslide park
  • Tried to save my dog from the new cat and now sport 7 scars on my hand from it
  • Burned my arm making cookies at work one day
  • Nearly broke my ankle again walking around Seattle
  • Broke my nose (and screwed up my front teeth leading me to have braces) doing a flip on a jungle gym at school...during the summer
  • Had to wear a eye patch taped to my head from having my sister "scratch my eye out"

I'm sure I could come up with more if I really wanted to try

Words

I love words, there origins beginnings, how one thing can mean so little to one and so much to another. Every once in a while you have that one conversation or even just a thought; that changes it all. Like how you can think I might be pregnant, but knowing you are and thinking you are are 2 huge differences. Saying I think I Love You and I Love You, have a distinct difference. Those little things that are so simple but so powerful, maybe even life altering. I guess what I'm trying to say is how easy it is to forget the power that we all hold over each other with our words. That, that one phone call you've been dreading might one day come true the fateful words spoken as you feared. How do you prepare for this, is it even possible to do so. Should this be our driving force to do as much as we can before they come for us. Or should we hide in our securities of what we know and trust and just let life happen to us. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what words should give the power to and which ones need to be diminished, struck down, demolished, or just plain gone from your life. Can we give or take the power or does it just happen to us. Do we all have a destiny to fulfill or do we write our own story? How do you know?

Snow! Snow!! Snow!!! Snow!!!! Snow!!!!!

It's Snowing!!!!!!
So as I'm sure most of you know we had some snow here a while ago, one night I couldn't sleep because it was to light out. I love my sleep! and it was like 1am, so I went out to my balancy and took some pictures.

I totally miss the snow... wish it happened more often. The quite that seems to come from it....

The child like joy anyone can feel from it. Oh the taste of it....I love it!!

So Ashley decided to make a mini snowman forest...

My Love Affair

Have any of you just wanted to be able to say to some random person: "I'm having a Love Affair"??? Like me I'm smack dab of one between me and my bed. I love my bed, its who i spend all my time with we screw around on the internet, watch movies, read together. When Im not at home I miss her so much, and going home I know that she will be there loving me back. Why can't every relationship be so simple??
